Lessons from my neighbour

February 25, 2012

Mr Happy character by Roger Hargreaves

February is fast becoming the month for life lessons.

I had an interview at the job centre today. Later, as I turned the corner to Pie Palace, I bumped into the cousin of my neighbour. I call my neighbour noisy reggae man and he’s an absolute diamond. His girlfriend on the other hand…

A Birthday Story

December 19, 2009

It was my birthday last week.

I’ve always celebrated my birthday in a big way. I try to make it last at least a week and if I can stretch it to two, even better. There are many people who see it as just another day, or would rather forget about it, but I see it differently. To me, it’s the most important day of your life because it declares your arrival on this Earth. You may wonder at times if there’s anything left that’s good and you may also wonder if the things you do in the day actually matter or make a difference. This morning I woke up to something different. There’s more…

Children – take one a day with water

August 5, 2009

There are some days when you marvel at the world and thank your God or the Universe that you are alive. I’m going to tell you about my personal moment.

It was Friday, it was sunny and I was walking to the bus stop to get a bus to Canary Wharf. On the way I encountered three youths who were hanging around looking shifty outside a little park. It was only when I had almost passing them that I noticed the dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier which is the dog of fashion in London at the moment. There’s more…
